Senior System Engineer
Description

We are looking for Senior System engineers to operate and tune the Unix Servers (Solaris and Linux), SAN storage (EMC), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. This role will also assist in overseeing the logical security, integrity and availability of all the Unix server OS, SAN Storage & OCI cloud platform.

Responsibilities

Participate in capacity planning and define long-term goals for UNIX systems (Solaris and Linux),SAN storage and software solutions available in the Bank.
Collaborate with end-users and department managers to align IT infrastructure with organizational objectives.
Research emerging technologies and contribute to procurement and development strategies.
Accountability

Hands-on experience with SPARC T8 and Dell hardware, Oracle VM Server for SPARC.
Installation and configuration of UNIX servers and SAN storage components.
Collaborate with network, application, and database teams to implement UNIX systems following best practices.
Address vulnerabilities as identified by PCI DSS audits and other compliance requirements by ISD.
Functional Responsibilities Unix Systems Administration:

Configure LDOMs on SPARC T8-2 servers with SR-IOV Virtual Functions for Ethernet and Fiber Channel.
Administer Solaris 11 and RHEL OS: Installation/configuration, Networking and User Management.
Install and configure Solaris Cluster 4.3 and Zone Clusters (Solaris 11.4).
Support Oracle RAC installations and performance tuning with DBAs.
Manage RHEL and Solaris server updates and vendor-supplied patches.
Create and maintain shell scripts to automate processes.
SAN Storage Administration:

Perform LUN creation, allocation, and expansion on EMC systems.
Configure and administer SAN storage components (Dell EMC, Brocade and CISCO switch).
Fine-tune storage systems for optimal performance.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI):

Design and deploy scalable and secure infrastructure on OCI.
Migrate on-premises workloads to OCI while ensuring minimal downtime.
Manage OCI services such as Compute, Storage, Networking, Database, and IAM, Implement best practices for OCI cost optimization, security, and performance tuning
Security and Compliance:
Implement secure access policies, firewalls, and routine security evaluations for UNIX systems.
Perform system and transaction security audits to identify and mitigate risks and Ensure compliance with industry standards, policies, and licensing agreement
Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting:
Monitor, test, and tune Unix/Linux systems for optimal performance.
Proactively troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues across UNIX systems.
Perform system backups and recovery tests to ensure data integrity and availability.
Documentation and Training:

Develop and maintain documentation for Unix/Linux and OCI systems.
Train IT staff and end-users on system use and best practices.

Any Graduate, Relavant experience - 4+ Years
